A Spoon-billed Sandpiper at Khok Kham

 
 

         Although Spoon-billed Sandpiper is a rare bird of the world ,you can find it in Thailand.
Population of them in the world is approximate 2,000 pairs.They nesting grounds in extremely North-
East Siberia that is tundra region.In non-breeding season,they fly south to escape from harsh situation 
in tundra.Thailand is a country that they pass,some birds spend the time of winter (October-March) 
in my country.Especially,The area surround the vicinity of the gulf of Thailand.
        

 
 

 
 

Most area of Khok Kham are salt-pans

 
 

       Khokkham is the best place in the vicinity of Thaigulf that you can go watching Spoon-billed 
Sandpipers .In winter, they often visit here more than one( about 1to 3).Thai birdwatchers often find it 
look for food in salt-pans which is a habitat of them and their friends(others shorebirds).I would 
like to welcome you visiting my country to enjoy watching numerous birds in Thailand.
